Why “because of”...

We often remember the turning points, but forget what made them possible. We usually speak about what we have created, as though it began with us. But most meaningful things have a longer history. There is almost always someone, or something, that quietly came before. Perhaps this is one of the most beautiful parts of being human: we often become part of someone else's story without ever realizing it. A conversation. A sentence. A moment of trust. We may never know what they continue to shape long after they have happened. I wanted Monday to carry that history with it.
Monday would not exist as it does today without them. What follows is why.
John Manno
Looking back, I have come to believe that some of the most important moments in our lives rarely announce themselves as such. They arrive quietly, asking nothing of us, only to reveal their significance years later. In a world that constantly asks for proof, certainty, experience, and results, someone chose trust first. Not because there were guarantees. Not because there was evidence that everything would work out. Simply because sometimes people listen to something deeper than certainty.
I have come to believe that this requires something rare. A willingness to see possibility before it becomes visible. A willingness to believe in people before they fully believe in themselves. That kind of trust comes from a big heart. And it matters. Many things that exist in my life today can be traced back to that moment.
One of the things John taught me is something I continue to return to. We are rarely ready. We almost never know enough. We do not begin because certainty arrives. We begin because the process itself asks something of us.

Before our lives change, something usually changes within us first. The outside often remains exactly the same, while somewhere inside, we begin sensing that the life we have been living no longer fits the person we are becoming.
I met Hossein while I was living my own Monday — when a quiet suspicion had already taken root, that something in my life was not right, but I did not yet have the strength to admit it. This is not the most comfortable thing that can happen to a person who has grown used to their own life. And then, one simple conversation — about life, about wanting, about the things we dream of when no one is listening — did something I would not have thought possible. It made me believe that every small, private wish sitting in my head mattered. Not because it was practical. Because it was real, and because it was mine, and because it was the only thing worth building toward.
Looking back, I realize he helped me recognize something that had been quietly present all along: the importance of listening to my own inner voice, believing in the life I imagined, and moving toward it despite uncertainty.
There are people who offer answers, and there are people who help us hear our own. They remind us that the most important decisions are rarely made through certainty, but through trust in something deeply our own.
"You are full of ambition and capabilities you
don't realize yourself."
Every sentence belongs to someone. Occasionally, it is not the words that remain with us, but the person who once spoke them.
Life moves forward. We make different choices, build different lives, and gradually become people we could never have imagined at the time. Yet there are people whose presence becomes inseparable from the moment we first begin discovering who we really are. Looking back, it becomes impossible to separate what was said from the person who said it.
Yet some things remain untouched by all of it. They continue to exist quietly, long after the moment that gave them to us has passed, carrying something that never had the chance to fully become, and never truly becoming part of the past. Sometimes it feels like waiting for the sunrise from the west.
We often measure our influence by what we knowingly give. Yet some of the deepest marks we leave in one another's lives are the ones we never realize we have left. We continue with our own lives, often unaware that somewhere, within someone else's story, we remain.
